Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Really good food and drinks at a decent price. This compares to a lot of your standard Mexican chain restaurants but I didn't feel like their drinks were watered down. They have a decent amount of options for margaritas especially in the sizing options. Very glad we stopped in for lunch.

During a recent trip to Denver I had a craving for Mexican food. We found 3 Margaritas via a Google search. The reviews on Yelp seemed decent so we decided to give it a try. Big mistake. Literally the worst Mexican food I've ever had. It was greasy, watery and average tasting. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Our waitress was courteous and professional but nothing spectacular. I played it safe and just ordered the taco dinner with rice and beans. My friend ordered a burrito and neither meal was anything special. As I said, it was watery, bland and just plain gross. We ate it because we were there but it wasn't very enjoyable. The margaritas we had were too sweet and pretty watery in their own right. And then to top it off I ended up getting back later that evening. 3 Margaritas is a definite skip it for me.

Went here for my girlfriends bday. We were promptly seated and greeted by a very nice waiter with a funny personality. Sat on the patio and the wicker on my chair was all mangled. Chips and salsa are good. Ordered the camarones a la diablas. Kinda salty and not enough spice. My friends ordered the molcajete which was huge- came in a big stone bowl. Mexican over cream was ok. Also got banana burrito but it was funny tasting. This restaurant chain is just mediocre to me. I like it spicy and authentic. If I leave a Mexican restaurant still craving something spicy, I will usually not go back. Not a big fan of these chain restaurants

Margaritas are average, but the food is exceptional. My favorite dish is the red snapper. I crave it! Everything on the plate is delicious. The Enchiladas Divorciadas are also very good as is the Expresso Vegetarian on the lunch menu. I'll be back.

Well you can bring that $$ to $$$$'s - as our "happy Hour all day Monday" brought us a 10.95 Margarita! (used to spending $3.00 for a Happy Hour Margarita...) So that set off my husband who saw that there was a ten percent off for cash - only to have less than 10% returned when giving the full price. Deceptive advertising - just isn't good business - sorry - 40.62 for one burrito, one chili rellano, and one taco and one margarita and one order of sopapillas is way over charging! - This meal wasn't a 40.62-3.00 37.62 - NO, maybe a $20.00, but certainly wasn't double that. Sorry - lost our business!

3 Margaritas really seems to run the gamut in terms of reviews. While in Denver for a long weekend, we ended up here twice. The first time my BF and I had the 2 for 1 Patron margarita special. Neither of us like Patron, but it was one of those nights where we just needed tequila. We were pleasantly surprised - they were good ritas. We shared chicken mole enchiladas, and they were good. Neither of us were blown away, but the enchiladas were a solid 3 stars. Our server was great. He was friendly and attentive, and made an excellent suggestion in regards to tequila shots. Our second visit was entertaining as we went with four hungover friends from Santa Fe, and for those of you who don't know - Santa Feans can be really picky about their food. They didn't have high hopes when they saw 3 Margaritas is in a strip mall. They also didn't like the looks of the chips and salsa, so I had to laugh out loud when after having a couple, one of them proclaimed "Hey, this is alright." Everyone was surprised by the food. They liked it. It was not love, mind you, but they did enjoy their meals. I had the chicken tortilla soup, and I liked it. A few of the friends had burritos and enchiladas, and they liked their food as well. The running theme here, if you haven't guessed, is "like". Bonus point because they were playing the Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid on the TV that day, and there were several fans watching the game and cheering.

Not the worst I've had. but not the best either. Good portions and great atmosphere. If all Mexican restaurants were the same it would be boring. The service was ok but could use some help. No follow up on the meal, but on the plus side they weren't in your face as you try to eat..
(3)Michael P.
A 3 star place...the food, service, and atmosphere are good for a small group. But for large groups or a date this place misses with a staff that is a little pushy to get to you to order when you are not ready. But the food comes out right every time, and often quicker than you think. My wish is that the service would be a little more relaxed here, and a little more seasoning on the chicken and steak. But all in all...for a group of 4, it is a good time.
(3)Scott E.
Had a great experience at this location, we just left another Mexican restaurant because nobody was taking care of us. I call and spoke with Erik and he had our table set and ready to go when we arrived. Had excellent service by the entire staff and Erik checked on us a few times. Forgot the servers name but he also manages on the weekends, took the time to ensure everything was taken care of. Thanks for saving the evening for our party of 8.
(5)Courtney K.
WOW. Where to begin... Well... If you like going to a Mexican restaurant and being served Velveeta cheese as the "cheese dip" then this is the place for you. The margarita was a weak pre made mix with table salt served around the rim, NOT margarita salt. I got the tacos and the shredded chicken had absolutely NO flavor, the lettuce and tomatoes weren't fresh, and the beans tasted like they had just come out of the can you picked up in the grocery aisle. The salsa was decent, but the chips had a strange flavor that seemed to be sitting under the heat lamp for hours...and you could definitely taste it! Our waitress didn't help. She was incredibly rude and made another employee who was pregnant get the items we had asked for, and even blamed a different employee for a mistake that was made instead of politely fixing the issue. So, to sum it all up, if you're looking for a good authentic Mexican restaurant and value fresh, flavorful, food, then DO NOT GO. However, if you expect to be served baseball game style "cheese dip", then this is the place for you!
(1)Anthony C.
Had pretty good happy hour food. Margaritas were decent and the experience could've been a lot better if the server was paying more attention to his tables, than the football game that was on!
(3)Theresa C.
Really good food. Large restaurant and friendly staff. Happy hour menu is great. $6 for three tacos, $3.95 house margs (yum), $4.95 nachos. Can't beat that. Next time we'll come for dinner so we can use our Groupon.
(4)Jessica T.
Food is consistent. Margaritas are decent. Service is slightly above average. We've been going to the various 3 Margaritas locations throughout the Denver metro area for 10 years now. All the locations seem to have the same menus, consistent food and similar decor. I've never seen this location packed like some of the others (Broomfield and County Line Rd coming to mind) but this location is quite large. The food never blows me away with authenticity, nor is it craveable, but they are consistently good and that's really all I ask of certain restaurants. It's all reasonably priced as well. We had a group of 8 (4 kids and 4 adults) and they always do great with groups as well as keeping it relatively affordable, including a couple pitchers of margaritas.
(3)Hazem M.
Great mushroom salsa as well as Bloody Marie's. Secret the first mushroom salsa is free so savor it
(4)Doug J.
I am up here on business from NJ. I really enjoy Mexican cuisine. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered a Mexican salad with fish. the only thing good about the salad was the lettuce. The fish was extremely fishy and in my opinion rancid. i ate a small piece of it and have not felt well for the past 3+ hours. the avocado was brown and the dressing was funky. Another member of our group ordered the fajitas for $25 and there was only enough meat for 2 wraps. I do not recommend this place. if you are in the mood for Mexican food find a different restaurant.
(1)Kesha R.
Well for starters the hostest wasn't friendly seating us. She seemed tired so the customer service from the start was crappy. The guac had no flavor and the chips and salsa were not tasty at all. I had the enchilada, taco and crispy rellano combo. It was good. Better than the chips, salsa and guac. I was pleasantly surprised. With that being said, it wasn't outstanding. But the patron 2 for 1 margaritas were.
(3)Rusty Y.
Over priced and not very good,,,,,charged me for onions and different sauce on enchiladas,,,,, I order 2 and a taco drank water and bill was $14.95. I'm from Texas and know good Mexican food,,,same meal back home would have been $10.00 and much better
(1)Cielo F.
even with a groupon it wasn't worth it ... it's not Mexican and it's not a good stab at American
(3)Jeff H.
I'm a little conflicted on how to review Mexican food in Denver because I moved here from Texas and have a strong view of what I like. I've eaten at a few places in Denver that weren't very good, but were ok. Today I ate at Three Margaritas for the first time and I will never go back. The chips and salsa were not good. The salsa tasted like tomato paste (sweet) and the chips were not good. I ordered Mole Enchiladas, which tends to be tough to find good sauce for, and the sauce was not good. They also put a lot of sesame seeds on it which I hadn't noticed in Texas... I started to feel like I was eating teriyaki chicken. The lettuce was also wilted. Two other guys I ate with were from Phoenix and Dallas. Both had a similar dislike towards the food. We all thought this might be the worst Mexican food we have eaten at a sit down restaurant. One guy said he would prefer Casa Bonita. Perhaps it is a better representation of southern Mexico food, but if you are used to the spicier/flavorful dishes then this will disappoint you.
(1)Lisa H.
Two stars is being generous. The common theme in most of these reviews is that the food is OK - not great - merely, shall we say, edible. Our experience was no different. After discovering that our go-to Mexi joint (and basically EVERY other decent one was closed for Easter Sunday) we decided to give this place a try. What a bummer. We should've gone to Chipotle! Would've been less disappointing. We started off with queso because we were huuuungry, and like another reviewer here, we also thought it was Velveeta as the not-so secret ingredient. I ordered a combo, because when in doubt, variety can sometimes be your savior! If you don't like one thing, you have a few more to choose from. Unfortunately my chili relleno more closely resembled an egg roll, and my pork enchilada lacked any kind of flavor except for traces of what horrifyingly reminded me of canned tuna???? Oh and the spoon full of rice they gave me was a real friggin treat too. To be fair, I found the ground beef tasty. And the salsa was pretty good, though I'd say clearly from a jar or can. Other places may charge a little more but we still lost out on $50+ for this crap - not a mistake we'll make again!
(2)Nicole S.
This is a large Mexican restaurant with fast, friendly service and an extensive menu. There are plenty of healthy and vegetarian options as well as loads of indulgent dishes. I tried the mixed vegetable enchiladas with the carrot puree. The puree was an unconventional and surprisingly delicious alternative to traditional red enchilada sauce. It wasn't too salty--just lightly seasoned with lemon and pepper. The large portions yielded plenty of leftovers, which made the Groupon all the more worth it. We saved room for dessert and split the chimichanga de manzana. The apples were perfectly cooked and wonderfully infused with cinnamon. The shell was crisp and the accompanying strawberry ice cream and caramel sauce added a pleasant cool note to the warm dish. Totally worth the calories!
(4)Wes T.
Great happy hour specials from 3 to 7 every day. Also, there's a recurring Groupon deal, so that's another reason to come here. Good margaritas. The food isn't bad, and the service has always been really good to me. I like to sit in the bar area more than the "restaurant" side. Weird internal architecture makes me think of an Indian place, not Mexico, but whatevs.
(4)Adam W.
A four star. The food was good. Real good. And the food appeared fresh to order. Our waitress's was funny and fun. She handled the large table we had which included 6 kids. The restaurant was clean and presentable. Had nice music playing in the background and a few TVs to catch the Wild/Avs game. The margaritas were great and on special two for one. Even Patron Rita's were on sale. The burrito loco had great flavor and tasted great. Stop in and try this place. It was worth it.
(4)Angela R.
I'm a California girl, visiting family here & got a taste for Mexican food. We decided to try here and I have honestly never left so dissatisfied. The food here is overly priced and is a sorry excuse for Mexican food. I had the burrito, which was beyond dry. I'll stick to California & authentic Mexican food places from now on!

First time here. Granted it was 8 pm and just me... but not a friendly greeting. Very small basket of grocery store chips and the smallest cup of salsa I've ever received. And it wasn't special. Should have checked Yelp first but place was close to my hotel and looked inviting. Got the Carne Asada...and when it came the waiter shoved it in front of me and disappeared. Never did get the tortillas that came with the meal. They had a couple of tables to sing Happy birthday to..guess that's more important? The hostess did come by my table before I had my food..so really couldn't say much at that point. The guacamole was passable but the beans and rice were very generic. The steak was over cooked...dry and way over salted. When the bill came again just laid it on the table and ditched. Put my credit card with the piece of paper..he came and snatched it brought my card back without a word and never returned. I guess I'm really spoiled by Carlos O'Kelly's cause it beats this place to pieces. Absolutely no reason to return here.

I visited on a Saturday night while in town on business. I came here on a recommendation of the carne asada from someone whom I question there taste in any food in general. I ordered the Pancho Villa plate and could not have been more happy! I feel the food was very flavorful and with generous enough portions. I don't care very much for a lot of heat but found this to be just the perfect amount, very well balanced. Since I couldn't resist I also ordered just 1 steak taco as well to try and that was just as pleasing, served authentic style with onions, cilantro and lime. I also ordered the Original Margarita and along with having a good kick I thought it was well represented in a classic glass. Our server was attentive but not aggressive...I might add that there were several large groups of teens there before a dance, but I didn't notice any change in our service. Over all I would recommend to friends and also be happy to return! :)

We have long sought out top-quality Mexican food restaurants, and this is our favorite on this end of town. We have probably eaten there 30 times or more, with only a few experiences that weren't favorable in all that time. The food, service and margaritas are consistently good, and we always look forward to going back.
(5)M L.
I always order the Quesadilla appetizer (1/2 Chicken, 1//2 Chorizo). You get this big plate of food + unlimited chips/salsa for about $11 with a drink. Everything is fresh. Fills me up for the day after I'm done.
(3)Joel F.
Bust out the rubber stamp for Tex Mex! I don't care. Sometimes you want the kind of mexican food where the server warns you about the plate temp, no matter what you order it all kinda tastes the same, and you could order off the kids menu and STILL have leftovers! I like how by the time the server is done writing your order the food is showing up... I know... it's all already made. Again, WHO CARES?! You knew what you were getting into! Hey, I'm not saying it's bad, sometimes you need to salinate in a hurry. Maybe you need a melted block of cheese to soak up last night... YUM. If you turn to me and complain about this place because they don't have "authentic" mexican food, I may slap you with the menu full of numbered large plate combos! I will be back.
(3)Max C.
Despite being a "chain" this particular restaurant consistently delivers great food. Carne asada, fried snapper, Sopa de Jaiba and fajitas are always a joy to look forward to. Tip: ask for their mushroom salsa (unfortunately now $3) and Negro Modelo draft. (The place has been on a bit of a downward trend but in my opinion it still holds up to 3.5-4 stars)
(4)Don D.
Meal was about 30 minutes late. When it arrived, the items were wrong. Food was bland, overpriced, and the service was slow. Not going back.
(1)Dan M.
Don't do it. There are so many other Mexican places there is no reason to come here. This is frozen, pre prepared food heated up on site and served by rude people. You have been warned.
(1)Kiki M.
Food is always great, lots of vegetarian options, friendly and attentive staff. Juanita even has our order memorized! This has always been a great neighborhood place!
(4)Carrie B.
Huge portions! Go during lunch times for their very reasonable lunch special prices!!
(4)Anita S.
I recently found out that this chain is owned and managed in Washington. Manuel the bartender at this location knows his stuff about the establishment. That always says quite a bit when the bartender is happy to be part of this restaurant family. I mentioned to him how any one of the restaurants I've been to really seemed consistent. Ordered the queso fundido. It did have a bit much grease but it's to be expected when you combine Chorizo + Cheese + Heat. Still, I love this appy no matter. The carne asada. When you order it at most places is a bit dry and tough from overcooking. NOT AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. It was tender and succulent even being the thin cut of meat it is. The margaritas come in a hurricane glass. They were also delish. Not overpowering tequila or this size would have limited me to one. Instead I have a couple. Ahhhhh, Three Margs, can't wait to return.
(3)Jerry S.
Been going there for years, but this just happened recently. Went there for happy hour and the server charged us full price for everything including drinks. I understand that could have been a mistake, but this is where it gets bad. The server said it was because my brother pointed to the happy hour item on the menu so he assumed that we were ordering the full price items. We were sitting at the bar area, and it was happy hour, hello. Gets worse. The manager decides to come over and starts to defend the server. We get into an argument. Really!? Get worse-er. The server makes a RACIAL remark about me in spanish to the manager. Unfortunately for him, I knew exactly what he said. I confronted them on their comment and they both stood there shocked and embarrassed. After that, the manager decided to change my tab to happy hour prices and buy me my beer. How pathetic. Moral of the story. Don't talk sh*t about other people in front of them in another language assuming the person doesn't understand. DUMB ASS!
(1)Jack V.
We got there at 9pm they closed at 10. Hostess (our to be waitress) didn't greet us, sat us and was short and impatient with us from beginning to end. I get that it's late but seriously.....she hurried us and was not friendly...ever. Little sister found a hair in her food. She told us it was our hair and not theirs. She replaced the "Harry" Queso burrito plate (with 2 ala carte tacos). Blah. There was no apology from her for her rude behavior or the "Harry" burrito. In the end Rude lady charged my sister for one $3 taco and We were charged accordingly for our food. My conclusion.....we should have just gone to Los Dos Potrillos down the street.
(1)Cassandra F.
Came to this location for lunch the other day with some coworkers. It would be slightly hard to find if I didn't know where to go. It's kind of back behind the Target at Arapahoe and I-25. There's not much I can say from other Three Margaritas restaurants. It's got good chips and salsa, and the food is pretty good. I had the shrimp enchiladas and I really enjoyed them. Though it's kind of a lot of food. Felt kind of sluggish and tired after lunch that day. The service left a little to be desired. It was kind of slow, and the food to a while to get. Overall, pretty affordable and tasty though.
(3)Michelle A.
A pitcher of Margaritas and I came home and went to sleep. I felt a small buzz but I certainly was tired. Had the large cheese enchilada. It was kinda salty but I ate most of it and my friend had a huge chicken burrito but took most of it home. Chips and salsa were ok. Service was fast and friendly. Not my favorite place but close to work.
(3)Terry B.
All the years I've lived and worked near this place, I've only been in for margs and just once. So, today I was going to get a haircut, but thought the storm may have closed everything and saw a Neon open sign in 3 Margs window. This is solid, chain restaurant Mexican food. The place itself is huge, the service was good and damn quick! Maybe being one of two tables of customers to brave the snow helped? You get your typical chips with salsa...not at all chunky salsa and not a lot of kick, but tasty. They have menu options galore with a number of combination plates. I opted for the avacado tostada with ground beef. The ingredients were fresh, seasoning of the rice was good. Price was $9 or so? Overall, it's a solid place.
(3)Love A.
really good food and the bartender is amazing he can make a drink like no other.
(5)Lee S.
My kids loved the food. I thought it was average tasting, but big portions and tons of chips and salsa. The guacamole on the burrito made the meal.
(3)R T.
Good Food, Fast Service. Problem? The ladies bathroom smells like Tijuana and needs cleaning. Ick Factor! (makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like) :((
(3)Ang R.
This place used to be good BUT the food and service and atmosphere is horrible! Cheap ingredients. Has the health inspector been there or INS? I expect authentic but not when the waiter and staff can't understand any English and when You order you point to the menu or a number and they still Mess it up!! I won't go there again. I'd rather eat taco bell!!
(1)Amanda P.
They took us all the waaaaay to the back, gave us one water (for 3 people) and some chips and salsa. When I asked if it was still happy hour, we had to move all the way back up to the front. The bar area smells like a dirty toilet, it's gross. Everything feels dirty and grimy and most of the booths seats I saw were duct taped. The staff seem super confused and kept trying to bring us stuff we didn't order. The margaritas suck and are watered down, the tacos and nachos we got were gross. This place may be just one very little step above Casa Bonita, except you don't get the magical cheese here. This is not real Mexican and it's just a crappy suburban chain. Don't go unless you have to.
(1)Tommy M.
We went to 3 Margaritas last night because we had a coupon. Well it turns out that coupon was only for cash paying customers (no credit cards)...who makes cash only coupons at restaurants? We were sat at a table near a booth where a drunk mother was playing some children's movie for her daughter on a portable DVD player at blaring volume. The wait staff did nothing about this until I asked them to tell her to turn it off due to the high volume annoyance. It is ridiculous that I had to ask because this drunk mother had the volume so loud that you could hear the dialog of the movie over the ambient noise of the restaurant. Multiple waiters walked by that table and did nothing. Also, I had to wait 10 minutes for a beer, I never got water that I asked for, and the burrito I ordered had very little green chili on it despite the menu saying it was "smothered" in it. This is the worst dining experience I can remember in 2011. It is pathetic that the staff allows a drunk to ruin the good time of other patrons by 1) allowing a DVD portable movie player to be used and 2) letting drunks play it at such a high volume eventhough the wait staff can clearly hear how loud it is. I was literally embarrassed for the wait staff in how inept they were at creating a pleasant dining experience. Note to 3 Margaritas: keep control of your drunk customers.
(1)Melissa F.
I only give this place a 3/5 but I have to admit, I keep keep finding myself going back to this place. The decor is kinda cheesy, as is the server with the big hair but the portions sizes are generous and the quality of the food is just a small step above what I've had a similar chains. I was kinda turned off by the TVs broadcasting sports in the dining area. One time I was there and there was a harpist (pretty random, right?) who sang "cielito lindo" for my date and I, maybe it was the potent margaritas, maybe it was my because I'd never been serenaded by a harp before, but I was "encantada".
(3)IB V.
Stopped here last week to get some Mexican food and was more impressed with the spicy wings then the rest of the meal. I love camarones a la diabla and didn't even see it on the menu, WTF?? it didn't help that a couple tried to use their Groupon coupon a second time and I had to listen that stupid conversation.
(2)Jamie K.
I will NEVER eat here again whether I have a groupon or not. I ordered my food for take out, but they ended up having a different menu then what was online. So when I ordered something from the online menu, it seemed to be a different version, so in short I ended up with several dishes that weren't what I ordered. And they screwed up Ceviche...I didn't even know that was possible!
(1)David S.
With a Groupon in hand, I figured it had been a long time since I had eaten some Comfort Mex. I had never been here before, but for what it is, it was A-OK. Nothing special, and nothing like real Mexican food, but not bad for the average combo plate eatery. Overall, I do not eat this kind of Mexican food often, but if I am in the area and craving gloppy food, I would come back.
(3)Rick J.
I took my wife there for a night out thinking it would be as nice as the one on County Line. No such luck. Total disappointment except the service which was very good. The food was okay at best and the dining area was more like eating in a cafeteria than a nice restaurant. The odd thing about it was as we were seated we walked down a hallway where part of the wall had glass in it such that you could see the dish washing area. Really?? Is there a purpose in that? The ONLY good part about this whole evening was the fact that I was with my wife and got to enjoy her company. If we eat at 3 Margaritas again it will be at the one on County Line as the atmosphere was like it should be.
(1)Alex C.
My friend's dad was in town and wanted to take us out for mexican food. I suggested d'corazon downtown, but was overridden. We made our way down to 3 margaritas and as soon as I saw the building I knew the food wasn't going to be great. Plus, the parking lot is rather difficult to navigate. Service was bad. My half of the party walked in about 5 minutes after the other. We walked in, said we were meeting a party and were greeted with "well there are lots of parties here tonight". Thanks, douche. We sat down and it was another 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. Guacamole, another 10. Finally we ordered, chicken enchiladas de mole for me. This is the dish I judge Mexican places by, and 3 margaritas gets their mole from a bottle. Disappointing. The salsa was flavorful and nicely spiced, the guac was bland, food was bland, and the service sucked.

After reading the weekly happy hour specials for 3 Marg, my girlfriends and I were ready for some midweek cocktails and enchiladas. The level of excitement was about to deplete rapidly upon walking into 3 Margaritas. First off, the main host was short with us at the front entrance. He barely annunciated as he asked us if we wanted to sit in the main dining room or the bar to which we said we didn't care. Well we should have cared because none of the specials they advertised on their website applied to those who choose to sit in the dining room. The waiter looked at us like we were crazy when we opted to move into the bar since nobody explained the rules to us when we got there. Next fun trick was when I asked if we could get their special on Coronas the waiter said that he had never seen that being advertised on their website. When I pulled up the ad for this specific 3 Marg location on my phone he still wouldn't validate the advertisement. The manager/website editor wouldn't even validate the information from their own website! Know what you put on the web. As far as food goes, it was nothing different than any food you'd find at another tex mex restaurant. Sloppy display. Everything was just the same mix of cheese, rice, and meat product across the board. A taco didn't seem to vary too much from a tostada. I wouldn't waste your time at 3 Margaritas. Poor service. Bad management. Bland food.

The happy hour specials for both food and drink cannot be beat. We had a great meal and it was under $15 for two people. Chips and salsa were great. The last time our service wasn't good, but that's really hit or miss, if that gets cleaned up its the best Mexican restaurant in the Denver suburbs.

This place is gross. I give it 2 stars for cleanliness and service. We ordered the shrimp fajitas because it's always a safe bet. It was not a safe bet. It was covered in some sweet orange sauce that made it taste like chinese food. yuck. I have never had worse mexican food anywhere and I have had some bad mexicano. Adios.

Let me start off by saying -- I'm not a big fan of chains but this is my exception to the rule. Mainly because we don't have this chain where I live. I've been coming to 3 Margaritas for years either in the PHX area which is now closed but in the DEN area as well. I love the food. This is the only place where I can get my favorite dish chicken and cream and its done right. If you know of another place where I could find this dish feel free to let me know but trust me....I've been to enough Mexican restaurants and its the first thing I look for on the menu. I've been to this location twice now and to the Littleton one once. I've never had a problem with service. Our server last week was quite the jokester which was cute considering we tried getting some recipes outta him. Everyone that I've brought here has walked out full and satisfied. Seriously, if you're in the area, stop by and give it a try. You can't go wrong.

We used to love 3 margaritas. The service has gone down the hill the past year or so. Food is spotty - avoid happy hours!

On a whim, we decided to give 3 Margaritas a try although I usually prefer the little hole in the walls. But since I haven't found "THE" mexican food joint we gave it a whirl anyways. I suppose I had my expectations up and the long extensive menu should've been my first clue. You can't be great at everything. Keep it simple and perfect the dishes you serve. So I simply ordered the chipotle cheese enchiladas. Not bad. Not great. No big mmmmmm as I took my first bite. It was filling yet not fullfilling at the same time. So lesson learned. Stick to the little gems. They may be hard to find but always better than settling for less than great.

Since I've written this review I moved away and came back. I went here one day recently only to find they had significantly raised their prices from when I used to live here. I understand inflation and all that but the food here is ok. The draw was the price. For the prices they now charge I can get higher quality Mexican food elsewhere which is a shame. The service was still great and the place had not changed at all except for the prices.

We had dinner here last month with our son. The place is pretty good, but not spectacular. It isn't a favorite of ours. The chips and salsa is pretty tasty. We tried the cheese dip, which was unimpressive. It was orange and had spice, but didn't seem house-made at all. We had enchiladas, which were pretty good. The house margarita is good, but the strawberry is not so much - definitely seems like it is bottled flavor. The service was good and everything was served fast and seemed fresh. Good place and likely worth a try.

We went here because they offered a Groupon and my better half and I figured we'd give it a shot. I wanted a yummy salad. So, I ordered the mango shrimp salad. What did I get? Super salty shrimp salad with oily "mango" dressing. I'm so disappointed with restaurants that think the only way to give flavor to food is to over salt the sh&t out of it. I didn't even think there was mango in my dressing, it just seemed like a vegetable oily dressing. Thanks but no thanks. Then there was the service. The server forgot to bring several things and then just forgot about us. Wow, double whammy bad! I won't be going back here!

Ok, first of all people that gave this place bad reviews....your just wrong... Their food isn't anything like a chain restaurant.....You want chain food...Go to.. On the Border... My husband and I have been coming here regularly for over 3 years...Never a bad meal, the food is always fresh, they are very friendly...and 3 different people from the host to servers actually remembered us. It's very large and nicely decorated...and sorry Alex, really? the parking lot was difficult to navigate...were you driving a Semi? The parking lot is large...So I guess he just wanted to pout cause he didn't get to go to d'corazon. Some of the things I recommend... For Appetizers.. The chicken Taquitos are yummy, Filled with chicken and cheese inside a fried shell crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The loaded nachos and quesadilla's are always great. For an entree the Carne Asada is excellent! It's marinated skirt steak that is grilled and melts in your mouth. The Steak Jalisco is so good, it's smothered in cheese and mushrooms, with spinach and peppers....It's my hubby's favorite. If you order drinks, they aren't stingy on the alcohol...and they have great happy hour specials... So I also noticed that people have reviewed it under Three Margaritas, but the actual name is 3 Margaritas and there are quite a few more positive reviews under that name...so dont let some of the bad reviews here fool you!

I hadn't been to this place for years, but they ran a Groupon so I figured why not try it again. We were there for lunch (so no margaritas) and the food was only OK. The best thing I had was the crispy chili relleno, but I've had better. We won't be going back.

If you like food made with processed canned cheese from a high school football snack stand, then this is the place for you!

If your in the DTC area looking for your solid chain like Mexican type restuarant this is a good choice. I've been in here twice now, service was quick, plates are huge and the food is decent. I usually just drop in here now for the drinks at the bar of course the margaritas are excellent. ps.. because of my guacamole fetish I had to try... I was served a gaucomole salad it was delightful, not spicy very mild!

I was surprisingly happy with the enchiladas. I got a groupon, that was the only reason why I went.

Really disappointing. We went mid-week, so there was no wait and the service was just fine. Beyond that, there is nothing good here. The margaritas are gross. At least, the house margarita is...it's made with margarita mix! My friend had one of the specialty margaritas, and tht, too was disgusting. Straight sugar. The (complementary) chips were stale and the "super nachos" were super neither in size nor quality. The dish was a small congealed mass of cheese with some sour cream thrown in for good measure. I rarely write negative reviews, but honestly, if you are going to call your restaurant Margaritas, then have decent margaritas! I've had better at TGI Fridays, which is not in any way a complement to TGI Fridays. For those that say "great margaritas"...I'd be really curious to know what you were drinking. Also, the lobby smelled like a sewer. The rest of the place smelled fine, but the lobby was really bad.

This is my FAVORITE Mexican restaurant! I emphasize the word MEXICAN and omit any word relating to TEXAS. This place has AUTHENTIC Mexican cuisine and anyone who doesn't love it has dull taste buds only suitable for crappy chain-factory produced tex-mex crap. I usually get the Pollo Asado with flour tortillas. It is awesome especially when you add some of their queso dip and salsa. I almost forgot the best part! Order the ORIGINAL margarita, it comes in its own shaker. You only need one cause it will rock you!

To find the food, drinks, and service palatable at 3 Margaritas, you need to consume the equivalent of three margaritas (at least) or a like quantity of some other type of alcoholic beverage. Chains like this serving mediocre Mexican fare give Denver a bad reputation for Mexican cuisine when we should have some of the best. .Best avoided.

I got the chicken chimi lunch. It was okay. I might go back again.
(3)Mira S.
Meh, I think not. While the menu was big and had lots of stuff, everything that was ordered at our table (party of 8) had very mediocre food. Can't recommend anything.

We recently returned to 3 margaritas and it was much better. Not sure what happened our last time in.

The food here was very good and the portions generous. I ate here when I was in town a month ago but can still remember the ambiance in the place as being very comfortable. A place I would frequent often...except I live 1000 miles away. Our waiter was very conscientious and checked back with us just often enough to be helpful. Another waitress was very friendly as well and have a delightful smile every time she passed by. Started with chips and salsa, which were refilled for us as needed. Continued with an enchilada dish....don't remember the exact name. Like I said, it's been a month. But I remember it was very good and for a person with a fairly healthy appetite, it was a challenge to finish. But I had to finish it as I was staying in a hotel with no refrigerator. That created the biggest problem of the night. I ended up having only 2 margaritas so I will never fully understand why this place is called "3 Margaritas".

Ok food, but just ok. Awful service. Very uneducated.
(3)Kyle O.
This is your typical run of the mill chain mexican restaurants. I wasn't overly impressed with the food. They have their house margarita's on what looked like a tap. I can begin to like this idea. Although I would have to say I've tasted better margarita's for cheaper. I lived in San Antonio for awhile and this just doesn't cut it for good Mexican food. I think you're paying for the atmosphere in this establishment.
(2)Tricia B.
Awesome margaritas...really good food.
(4)Lon W.
Solid food as you would expect, good drinks. We have had acceptable service for the price point. Very good if you have kids.
(3)Peter P.
Will try out beef fajitas n don julio margarita
(3)Tim W.
This is a standard for me when in the area. My first time here I had an original margarita and the molechetja. It was one of the best margaritas I've had and the molechetja is the kind of thing you'll only find at a "real" Mexican restaurant. It is a stew like collection of sausage, chicken, peppers in a brown-red sauce topped with cheese. Service was prompt and courteous.
(4)Stan H.
Very good, allows one to try different Mexican dishes, food is fresh, presented well, tastes homemade, and plentiful, staff is great, happy hour is available and very reasonable, good Mexican beers on draft, I love Mexican food and this ranks among the better places in the denver metro area, and yes, it is clean
(5)Pax T.
Hands down the worst Mexican food I've had in my life! Bland, bland and did I say bland? The Chicken Fajitas were delivered on a plate, not what one usually expects with fajitas, the sizzle is half the attraction. No flavor, no taste and no return visit from this foodie!
(2)C. T.
Wouldn't eat here again if it was free!! We only went here because we had bought a groupon, and we love Mexican food. The food was bland, lacked flavor, and was not appetizing at all. I got a smothered burrito - how do you screw up a burrito? Not only was the food disgusting, but our server was a complete jerk!! He had zero tables, besides us! He was the bartender in the front room as well - but no one was sitting there. He was not busy whatsoever but acted like we had ruined his day by coming in. Not only was he impatient and rude - but he even had the audacity to roll his eyes at us and proclaim that our bill was "only $50" when we asked if we could split it between the two of us. I left him zero tip and a note explaining explaining that his attitude was not only unwarranted but not appreciated. We will never return to this place where you get treated like an unwelcomed guest rather than a paying guest!

This place is the BEST for lunch & desert! Great flavor & portions. Get the mushroom salsa. I haven't had anything I didn't like at 3 Margs, but always have food envy when looking at coworkers' plates :)) Tres Marias to split between the whole table for desert!

Stopped in for lunch, had been wanting to try this place. It was a lot larger than I expected from how it looks from the outside. I ordered a combo meal with a beef enchilada, taco and chile relleno to share with my daughter. Decent Mexican fare. Chile relleno was a little bit of a surprise with cheddar cheese inside instead of the usual white cheese, but it was still tasty. Large portions and the kept the chips and salsa coming which is always nice. They have a pretty extensive menu so I do want to come back to try something else.
